TW: Racism, police violence, murder
16 years ago Oury Jalloh got killed in a cell in a police station in Dessau. He was injured and had broken bones, he was handcuffed and his feet were tied and the police insists he started a fire in his cell himself in that state. It’s unclear if he was even alive when the fire started. So he burned and the police didn’t realize it, as they state, until much later. There are many open questions about this case, but it’s pretty clear the police killed Oury Jalloh and got through with it.

I got these new stickers supporting Black Lives Matter now, because we as white people tend to forget to actively fight for this cause. But the murders are not only in the past, they’re still happening. We need other, better and antiracist alternatives to the police. As we saw when the right wing “Querdenker ” stormed the Reichstag and now in the US with thousands of fascists storming the capitol, the police don’t protect people from far-right violence. They are protecting a nationalist, classist, racist, antisemitic, ableist and sexist state. They are a constant threat to BIPOC, poor people, leftists and anyone else that doesn’t fit their “order”. And we as in white people need to reflect on how how we profit from that and fight every form of racist violence we see. Otherwise, we are complicit in oppression.
